About Us

The Dundas Horticultural Society is a membership based non-profit community organization. We are supported by the Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA) in becoming a member Society.

  • Dedicated to supporting community volunteer involvement in public garden projects here in Dundas

  • Devoted to enhancing knowledge and appreciation for horticulture

  • Passionate about enhancing the existing community of gardeners and growing new ones

The DHS is not new: the society was a going concern from 1957 to 1999. Find out more about how we restarted in the March 26, 2026 Information Session Presentation.

The Benefits of Joining the Dundas Horticultural Society

Membership in the Dundas Horticultural Society (DHS) offers numerous benefits. There will be opportunities to participate in caring for community gardens. You'll be part of a vibrant gardening community that is dedicated to promoting gardening, and a healthy environment through sustainable practices.

Join a Vibrant Gardening Community

Being part of the Dundas Horticultural Society allows you to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts, participate in various gardening activities, and contribute to the beautification of Dundas. All while making new friends and feeling good about your community.

Promote Active and Healthy Living

Gardening is great for your health! It’s a stress-buster, mood-lifter, and workout all rolled into one.  Who knew pulling weeds could make you feel so sprightly?  Not only is it good for us, but good for the environment as well.   Plants help cool urban  areas and promote biodiversity.

Educational Workshops, Social Events and Expert Speakers

Members of the Dundas Horticultural Society have access to educational activities, social events and  interesting guest speakers. It's all about learning as we grow.

Get Involved In Helping Plant & Maintain Public and Community Spaces

We are looking  to partner with local organizations that we can help in doing spring clean up & planting, watering, weeding and over all seasonal maintenance.  We will enhance the beauty of Dundas.
