This peony on the DMA grounds is believed to be from the Keagey Estate, now the site of the Parkside Cemetery, formerly Parkside High School. James W. Keagey was an architect and renowned peony breeder.

It is believed that these flowers were saved by the Lennard family of Dundas from samples brought to their family cottage many decades ago. The Lennards generously donated the plants for the grounds after the Museum's renovation in 2013.
